Your Accomplishments, by Dr. Ogi. Ressel
Thursday, April 2nd 2009Warm hellos to everyone,
Looking at the Fall colours while flying over Wisconsin two weeks ago,
made me realize that Fall is a time of conclusion. It is a time of end.
A time of wind, rain, sun and the inevitable coming of Winter. And it
makes me want to ask you this: "What have you done this past year?"
What have you accomplished?
If you were to look at your year, what would stand out in it? What
milestones have you reached? How many people have you helped?
How many children have you saved this year? How many parents see you
as their doctor? How many new people have you introduced to Chiropractic
this year? And how many in your community see you as the best?
Some cutting questions!
Wait....I'm not finished. What have you done for the profession this year?
And lastly...for your family and for yourself?
I find that many doctors flog them selves and beat up on themselves and
despair that they are not achieving the goals that they've set for themselves
at the start of the year. There seems to be this macho "thing" out there that
has doctors struggling their hearts out to capture that elusive new
patient - and not ask for help.
And they tell themselves that next year will be different. That in January
things will change.
I need to ask you this:
"Why would next year be different for you?"
Here is what most do - the same old things, the same old way, but
expect a totally different result. Someone once said that this is the definition
of insanity. I agree.
You see, to get different results, you need to do different things.
There's a concept!
Things that are different from what you've done in the past. Ideas that are
fresh, new, and wanted by your community.
Now...I can almost hear all of you say this: "but Dr. Ogi, I do different things now.
I've even hired a marketing wizard and coach to teach me all these glitzy
new marketing ploys to help me capture that elusive new patient."
Lighten up!
I am not referring to marketing, or selling Chiropractic, or selling yourself, or
prostituting your integrity. No!.
I am referring to learning what it takes to be the best. What it takes to
be the best doctor. What it takes to have people in your community think
that you are absolutely amazing. That no one even come close to where
you are. That people in your community talk about you everywhere. That
people actually ask if you could possibly, please, find the time to perhaps
check their children. And people fly in to see you from other states. And your
community sees you as a Wellness doctor - you no longer deal with sore
backs and stiff necks, rehab, insurance, orthotics, etc.
You don't have the time - you are too busy adjusting. You are a member
of the Rotary or Lions club, you write a pediatric and family practice column
for your local newspaper, everyone comes to hear your amazing presentations
that you do at the local hotel, and your whole community has the greatest
love and respect for you.
...And occasionally you take the local MD for a ride in your Ferrari - if you feel like it!
...And only after he has waxed it first!
You feel that is a dream, do you?
You need a life! ...and I mean it.
Of course this is a dream - yours.
You see, I've been there, and I have the tee shirt!
And this is what I teach. To be the best. Not the best at marketing,
not the best at hype, not the best at BS, not the best selling or
"closing 'em", and not the best at fear tactics executed brilliantly in the
name of Christ. No.
I teach you how to be the best at being a doctor. What an amazing concept!
So...if you are tired of the daily struggle and want to experience a different life,
please join with me.
Please call me. I am here to help you.
And remember this: You are on a mission. This is not some cool career you
have chosen. No.
You have been chosen to be a Chiropractor. Your destiny is to help as
many as you can.
So...no more hoping, and wishing, and dreaming. Stop. Start acting
like the doctor you were chosen to be. Live up to the name you've been
given. You are a Chiropractor.
Go out there and be one!
Warmest wishes,
Dr. Ogi Ressel
