Success Attitude, by Dr. Ogi Ressel

Monday, March 9th 2009

Warm hellos to everyone!
I need to address an issue which has many doctors totally stymied.
Picture this:
Here you are; been in practice for some time already - this is not new to you (I mean, you've
gone through all the new graduate growing pains and all that), you are really good at what
you do, been to all the seminars out there on growing your practice, you've got all the sales
pitches down cold, you are really well versed in all the angles, all the freebies, all the special
offers, and your office is all set. You've got hot and cold running CAs, open concept, all
the vitamins a patient could ever hope for, the orthotics, the traction units, the wobble
boards, the entrainment tables - you are ready to rock!
But....it is not happening. This elusive success "thing" just keeps on missing your office.

Ok.......I can hear some of you already; "Out with it, Dr. Ogi.....I can't stand the suspense.
You've just described me down to every detail. What must I do? "

Nothing! There is nothing you must do! But....there is something you need to be.

Herein lays the problem: Many doctors are sucked into glitzy marketing ploys expounded
at some seminar they took by some guru at the front of the room.
"Do as I do" is a common mantra at most of these. Part of the problem is that many of these
speakers wouldn't recognize a patient if they tripped over one in broad daylight. Why?
They haven't seen a live patient for decades. The result is that many ploys that are taught
have been invented because they sound good, but have never been actually tried - it's all
theory.  But it should work, right?

Hmmmm....

But, in all fairness, that is only part of the problem - you are taught what to do!
The biggest part of the problem is this, however: Attitude.
Attitude?
Yup. Attitude.

You see, success and wealth is an attitude - and so is failure.

This is a quality that is difficult to teach at a seminar. It is something that wells up from deep
down inside of you and permeates your entire life. It is seen in the way you carry yourself -
your confidence, the glint in your eye, the energy in your face, your bold step, the certainty
in your movement, and the aura you emanate. The result is that people are attracted to your
energy and want to be in your presence.
But....if you are full of failure, would you attract anyone? Even your spouse does not want to
be near you. (I must interject for just a moment here: If your spouse has this type of attitude
at the office, please send her/him home)

I can see it already: "Where is the doctor, Mary?"
"We sent him home!"

Listen, you need to get this; ......when they hear music, some people see a funeral, and others
see a parade. What is the difference? Attitude.

You see........what you see in the Universe, sees you. What you see around you is a reflection
of you and your attitude.
Those who are doing poorly in practice often expect to do so. It is an expectation. And they
are often not disappointed. Everything in their universe confirms that they should do poorly
 - they have every excuse in the book. They are a victim of circumstance - of course. You may
not agree, but deep down inside, it is true. Those who expect to be amazing - are. It is an
expectation. Again, their universe confirms their attitude. They resonate at a much higher
frequency! Everything is amazing, tons of patients, etc. ...And they are on the same block as
the fellow above!

You have a choice.
And this cannot be faked.

How can you have this winning attitude? I said that it cannot be learned at a seminar, but,
over time, you begin to change  - a result of exposure to many seminars you've attended,
speakers you've heard, books you've read, CDs you've listened to, people you associate with,
the willpower you have, and your desire and drive to change.

It is my sincere wish that you admit to yourself that your time is now......and you are very
welcome to call me - I'd love to help you get started.

Warmest wishes,
Dr. Ogi Ressel
